Scouts

Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader.

Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.

Throughout the year, the Scout sections compete in a variety of competitions such as orienteering, hiking, swimming and cooking. In addition, a competition is held every year that tests their overall camping skills which include, tent pitching, campsite layout, knots, backwoods cooking and gadget making.

The Scout Section round off the year with the older members taking part in survival skills training where they have the opportunity to sleep in bivouacs built by themselves, build and cook on fires and learn some additional primitive survival skills.
