Volunteers

Romford Scout District is a growing area, focused on providing quality, fun and adventurous activities for young people, boys and girls, from age 6 and up.

Scouting – the largest youth organisation in our borough

Across the District we currently have 18 Beaver Colonies (ages 6 – 8), 18 Cub Packs (ages 8 – 10 1/2), 16 Scout Troops (ages 10 1/2 – 14) and 5 Explorer Units (ages 14 – 18) providing activities to over 1000 young people each week. Our membership has grown by nearly 40% in the last five years and demand continues to grow.

We have ambitious plans to open more Beaver Colonies, Cub Packs, Scout Troops and Explorer Units, and now we are offering you the opportunity to be part of our success.

Can you be part of our success?

Whether its one night a week, one hour a week or a couple of hours per month, be it in a uniformed Leader’s role, or a more back of house support function, you can play a key role in helping us – and have a great time along the way.

We promise that you will receive full training and support to help you settle into your new role, and we can almost guarantee that within weeks you will start to wonder why you did not volunteer years ago.

There really is a role for everyone

Lots of people state that they would like to give something back to their community – but they don’t know how.

Volunteering to help Romford Scouts is a perfect way. If you want to find out more about helping as an adult please complete this form and we will be in touch.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
